Reinhold Holstein of Indianapolis entered eternal rest on October 27, 2018 at the age of 96.
He was born October 18, 1922 in Miltenberg, Germany to the late Adolph and Lydia Holstein. He came to the United States with his wife, three-month-old son, and three-year-old son in 1952. His wife Alma died in 1975. He worked at Western Electric where he met his second wife Marguerite whom he married in 1980 and started the next great chapter of his life. They retired together after 30 years at Western Electric.
Reinhold enjoyed everything about soccer from playing the sport, reading about it, or watching it on TV. He was great with his hands and loved fixing things around the house and spending time in his garden.
He is survived by his sons Eugene Holstein (Marilyn) and Horst Holstein (Barbara); step-daughter Nancy Neese (Rick); grandchildren Matthew Holstein, Rebecca Carle (Daniel), and Dieter Holstein (Ginny); step-grandchildren Kelly and Karen, and great-grandchildren Lexi Carle, Chase Carle, and Carter Carle.
He was preceded in death by wives Alma Holstein and Marguerite Holstein; siblings Robert, Else, and Erna; as well as his parents.
Graveside services will be held Friday, November 2 at 1 PM in Memorial Park Cemetery, 9350 E. Washington St, Indianapolis.
