Raymond James Pickett Jr., 79, Carmel, passed away January 11, 2017. He was born April 19, 1937, in Indianapolis, the son of the late Raymond James Pickett Sr. and Frances Jane (Renie) Pickett. He married Rebecca Ann Ring on November 7, 1964.
Ray graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1955. He then attended and received his bachelor degree in 1959 from Wabash College. Upon graduation, Ray enlisted in the United States Army. After he was honorably discharged, he was an officer for Indiana National Bank. He later worked as a real estate agent, and then retired as a real estate appraiser for Michael C. Lady Appraisal Company.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Becky Pickett; their three sons, Jeff (Cassy) Pickett, Greg Pickett, Brad (Allie) Pickett; seven grandchildren, Jakob, Justin, Jessica, Grayson, Janie, Evan, and Eric; and a large extended family.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2017, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
