Ray L. Overstreet

Ray Overstreet,91, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in Greenfield, IN. Ray was born in PutnamCounty Indiana the son of Walter and Clara (Reed) Overstreet. He was a Merchant Marine Veteran servingduring WW II and attended Purdue University. Ray worked in sales for Vonnegut Hardware for 45 years. He was a member of Indianapolis ScottishRite.

Ray is survived by hischildren; Thomas R. Overstreet, David R. Overstreet and Diane R. Huxford; 5grandchildren, Reed T. Overstreet, Ross P. Overstreet, Aaron R. Overstreet,Michal J.. Huxford and Sandra L. Huxford; 5 great-grandchildren, Shawn M. Bowen,Samantha J. Robertson, Matthew Huxford, James R. Huxford and Alexandria Huxfordand 2 great-great grandchildren, Bailey and Hunter Bowen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosanna(Whiteside) Overstreet in 1999, his parents and 3 brothers, Robert Overstreet,Aaron Overstreet and Clarence Overstreet and 2 sisters, Martha Spencer andFrances Johnson.

The family is being servedby Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St.,Indianapolis, IN 46229, where a FuneralService will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday,December 31, 2015. Friends may call atthe funeral home from 11:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be in Old Oaklandon Cemetery with military rites.
