Ralph Edwin Webb Jr. was born on October 4th, 1936 at Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Indiana and passed on his birthday October 4th, 2024 at the age of 88 in Indianapolis, IN. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn, sons Ralph III and Brian, their wives Cindy and Erica, grandchildren Kira, Selena, Jana and Bruce, sister Judy and countless other family members whom he endeared.
The oldest of three, Ralph worked exceptionally hard to achieve his high school diploma despite traveling extensively within the United States and Germany during his childhood due to his father’s Army career. Several times more he’d travel abroad, after enlisting in the US Marine Corps at the age of 18. He faithfully served his country for 20 years, including presidential security detail for Eisenhower and Kennedy, embassy security in Paris, France and 2 tours of duty during the Vietnam War, before retiring as a Master Sergeant. Later in his military career he pursued Avionics. Upon his retirement he leveraged his Avionics training by teaching electronics at technical schools and was recognized as the RCA teacher of the Year. Ralph taught electronics at and retired from Arsenal Technical High School of Indianapolis Public Schools.
Ralph will always be remembered as a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who had an unwaveringly strong sense of just. Ralph was also a semi-pro basketball player, avid golfer, fierce card player, family man, and always a proud Marine.
He is predeceased by his father (Ralph E. Webb Sr.), mother (Mary Webb) and sister (Hazel Curtis).
In his honor, please consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project foundation.
