Ralph Lawrence Shepard

Ralph Lawrence Shepard, age 82 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Wednesday morning, January 17, 2024.

Ralph was born on September 24, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan, a son of Eugene and Pearl (Alcot) Shepard.

He married high school sweetheart Gloria Janet (Homburg) Shepard on June 11, 1961.  She preceded him in death in 2016.

He is survived by three children:  Melissa Griggs, Todd Shepard (Sandra), Thomas Shepard (Kristina).

He is preceded in death by one daughter: Melynda.

His grandchildren; Lauren, Cassandra, Brandon, Chandler, Lindsey, Caitlin, Tessa, Bryce, Izabelle; and Great Grandfather to Blake, Ezekiel, Ruth, Adalyn, Theo, Ariana

Ralph enjoyed many things throughout his life including collecting coins, golf, lawn work, cooking and being outdoors.  He also loved  riding his bike.  Most all of he loved spending time with his family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Riley Children's Hospital in honor of Ralph's granddaughter Izabelle.

A visitation and gathering will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East Funeral Center, located at 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229.

A prayer service and time of sharing by family will be held at 2:00 PM.

Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
