Ralph E. “Ray” Muir Jr., 79, of Indianapolis, went home to be with the Lord on March 6, 2017.
Ray was born on June 9, 1937 to the late Sarah and Ralph E. Muir Sr. in Homestead, Pennsylvania. He honorably served his country in the United States Army, and retired after 21 years of service. After his retirement, he managed several locations for Royal Pin Leisure Centers for many years.
He was a member of the Southport Masonic Lodge, Indianapolis Murat Shrine, the American Legion Post, the VFW, the Indianapolis Bowling Hall of Fame, he was President of the Senior Masters Championships, and was a faithful member of Geist Christian Church. He loved to bowl, go to the casino, play golf and spend time with his family.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 37 years, Linda Muir; son, Alex Muir; grandchildren, Brittany and Zachary Muir; and great-grandchildren, Sophie and Jerin Briggs; siblings, Tom Muir, Janet Deklever, Irene Jones, Claudia Burkhart, Diane Maschok, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bob Muir.
Friends and family are invited to gather 4:00-8:00pm on Friday, March 10, 2017 with a funeral service to take place 11:00am on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ray’s honor made be made to Geist Christian Church, 8550 Mud Creek Road, Indianapolis, 46256.
