R. Joyce Williams of Indianapolis passed on February 18, 2021 at the age of 84.
She was born September 22, 1936 in Indianapolis to the late Roy and Jennie Payton.
She was a long-time member of the Eastern Star in Englewood. She served as the Worthy Matron three times and was also the Grand Rep. A consummate volunteer, she cooked for those attending the Grand Chapter. She was also a Past Guardian of Jobs Daughters. Her passions included needlework, sewing, boating, cooking, but especially spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years Robert “Bob” E. Williams; children Pam Montgomery, Ed Williams (Maryam), Rob Davis (Mel), Jean Furze (Ed), and Michelle Shuja (Shawn); 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Cindy Manson.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 23 from 12 to 2 PM in Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis. An Eastern Star Service will take place at 1:45 PM. Funeral Services will begin at 2 PM with burial following at Washington Park East Cemetery.
