Preston L. Heitzman

Preston L. Heitzman, 71 of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday April 24, 2021 with his family by his side. He was born on February 13, 1950 in Beech Grove, IN to the late Preston Richard and Clarice I. Heitzman. Preston was a man of many talents, name a job and he could do it. He met his wife, Mary, at church, and were married on July 23, 1978. Together they have eleven children, eighteen grandchildren, one future granddaughter, and one great grandchild. He loved his family immensely and was so proud of each one of them.

He spent his working years providing for his family. In retirement he found his passion in providing for the hungry at the First Free Methodist food pantry.

Preston is survived by Mary, his wife of nearly 43 years. His children; Sonja (Scott), Rodney, Preston II “Lee” (Kristen), Andrew, Samuel (Amy), Sarah (Ricky), Mark (Karen), Matthew (Christine), Micah (Jessica), Jeremiah, and Makayla (Tyvian). His grandchildren; Dakota, Madison, Tyler, Autumn, Lucas, Gabriella, Addison, Averie, Kaia, Arianna, Audrey, Katie, Katourah, Caden, Walker, Jeremiah “JJ”, Azariah, Naomi, and Violet, who will be making her appearance later this year; great grandchild, Abel; and brothers, Maurice, and Dale. He is preceded in passing by his sisters, Charlotte, and Kaye.

Friends and family are invited to gather beginning at 11:00 am on Friday April 30, 2021 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, where a funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm.
