Phyllis McInturf Brown, 84, Indianapolis, passed away at her home June 5. 2017
She was born May 22, 1933, in Pennsville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Daniel Curt and Mary Helen (Geddes) McInturf. She married Lynn H. Brown, who preceded her in passing November 20, 2010.
Phyllis received her B. S. Degree in Home Ec. Education from Ohio University and her Masters degree in Education from Butler University. She retired from teaching after 20 years at North Central High School.
Phyllis was a member of the Broad Ripple United Methodist Church, Ohio University Alumni, Delta Kappa Gamma, IFYE and was an IFYE exchange student to Sweden. She was also an avid sports fan.
She is survived by two sons, Randy Brown of Evansville and Rick Brown of Indianapolis; 10 siblings, Jack (Shirley) McInturf, Roger (Pat) McInturf, Bill (Shirley) McInturf, Dolores (Rex) Klingler, Bob (Sue) McInturf, Marj (Dave) Helm, Don (Lynda) McInturf, Dan (Patty) McInturf, Linda (Doug) Williams, Pat (Janet) McInturf and a brother-in-law, Gus Brown. She was preceded in passing by a brother Gary McInturf, and a sister, Karen Biggers.
Services will be 1:00 pm Friday, June 9, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan – Broad Ripple, 1305 East Broad Ripple Avenue. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service.
