Phyllis Jean Matthews

86, of Indianapolis, passed away October 31, 2017. She was born on December 20, 1930 the daughter of the late Herbert and Verle (Coons) Hicks. Phyllis retired from Western Electric in 1986, after 20+ years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Matthews; son, Steven M. Matthews; grandson, Bob Lark and her brother, Sam Hicks.

Phyllis was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Mark Matthews (Ana Soliz) and James Matthews (Linda); daughter-in-law, Sue Matthews; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 12pm until 2pm on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229, where her funeral services will immediately follow at 2pm. Entombment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
