Phyllis Louise (Reilly) Hartshorn, 78, passed away December 6, 2023 in Indianapolis, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of Walter and Mildred Reilly, she was born on December 30, 1944. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, James, and her son, Bryan Rudicel.
Phyllis leaves behind her loving children – Christopher (Mary) Rudicel, Sheila (Bill) Parsons, A.J. (Kathy) Rudicel, J.D. (Cindy) Hartshorn, and Margie Hoskins, along with 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She grew up in Vincennes and Indianapolis, Indiana. Phyllis and Jim met and married in Indianapolis and lived there for the rest of their time together. She spent the last years of her life living with her daughter’s family in Orlando. She was supportive of her family and loved spending time with them and was a loyal and loving friend. She was known to her grandkids as “Grandma Tweety” or “Grandma Bobo” and to most of her great-grandchildren as “GiGi.”
Phyllis enjoyed camping with Jim and friends, visiting her Florida family, and having fun with her dear friends. She was a great fan of the Indianapolis Colts and NASCAR racing, took pride in her Irish heritage, and adored all things purple. She attended St. Andrews Catholic Community in Orlando, FL. Phyllis was a wonderful mother who will be missed very much by her family.
The family would like to express our gratitude to the PCU and ICU departments and the Palliative Care unit at Community North Hospital, Indianapolis, for their wonderful care. We also appreciate our dear friends for their loving kindness and support during this difficult time.
A rosary was recited on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 9:30 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, located at 7243 E. 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46219.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated at 10:00 AM. Father Michael O'Mara officiated.
Following the mass, inurnment was held at Washington Park East Cemetery.

An additional Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Phyllis' birthday, Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 4:30 PM at St. Andrew Catholic Community, located at 801 N. Hastings Street, Orlando, FL, 32808.
