June 16, 1933 — June 9, 2017

Phil Thompson, 83 of Indianapolis died June 9, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Phil joined the US Army and served during the Korean War. He spent his career of over 55 years with Standard Grocery – National Tea retiring as the Vice President of Operations. He attended Old Bethel United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Old Bethel Food Pantry for over 10 years.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Clara Thompson; daughters Susan Kane (James) and Patricia James (Elmer); grandchildren Alex James, Kelley Carnagua (Michael), Jonathon Kane, and Daniel Kane.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lee C. and Mabel Thompson, and brother Robert Thompson.

Services will be held 12 PM Monday, June 12 at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St with visitation 10 AM until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
