On October 5th at the age of 61, our mother joined our father in their final resting place after her long battle with COPD.
Along with our father, Edward, she is preceded in death by infant daughter, Christina, parents Robert and Donna Kohler, and brothers Bob, Tom, and Bill.
Penny is survived by sister Cheryl of Texas, daughter Rebecca (Jeff), son Edward (Erin), 4 beloved grandchildren: Erick, Alex, Juliana (with whom she shared an extra special connection), and Aiden. She also enjoyed her grandpups, Vienna and Gotham.
Growing up in Romeoville, Illinois she was a self-declared tomboy. She told us about how she liked being a part of marching band, played with Johnny West toys, and was outside playing with neighborhood friends until dark.
She was a soccer mom, supporting both Rebecca and Edward as a team mom. She also gave back to the youth soccer league by writing their newsletter.
Penny loved dragonflies, teddy bears, and spending time with family and friends. She is deeply loved and will be fondly remembered.
Per her request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Lung Association.
