Peggy Sue Smith

Peggy Sue Smith, 60 of Indianapolis, entered eternal rest on July 6, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Peggy was born December 16, 1957 in Washington, Indiana to Harry L. and Judith Johnson. She was a graduate of Howe High School and worked at RCA for 19 years before going back to school for administrative assisting. She worked in Administration at IUPUI for many years in the Division of Nephrology and then in the Lily Family School of Philanthropy.  In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, sitting on her porch watching the animals, time with family, and most recently gambling.

She was with her husband and partner in life of over 36 years Dennis E. Smith. She had one daughter Jessica Ann Smith who was not only her personal nurse but her travel partner. Her babies were her pride and joy. She was Mamaw to Jordan, and known as NeNe to Clifford, Casen, and Kylan. She had a beloved sister Elizabeth Woodrich, her pops Steve Gray, step-daughter Andrea Pendleton (Aaron); granddaughters Alexis, Abigail and Addison as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the family dog Jack.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harry L. Johnson and Judith Gray; brothers Harry “Bud” Johnson and Michael Lee Johnson and dogs Jake and Batman.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 9, 2018 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, July 10 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
