Peggy Marshall Horneffer
83, passed away early on August 4, 2017, after a long illness.
Peggy was born in Muncie on March 9, 1934, the daughter of George and Crystal Smith. She graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1951 and attended classes at Butler University and I.U.P.U.I. She was a dedicated entrepreneur who founded Business Offices and Secretarial Services (B.O.S.S.) – where she managed multiple offices and mentored many career women.
Peggy was a member of the Methodist Church – in both Lawrence and Speedway – and walked her spiritual walk by befriending and assisting many elderly women during her lifetime.
Peggy is predeceased by her late husband Ralph O. Horneffer and will be missed by her children, Jeff Marshall, Kevin Marshall and his wife Lauren Leigh, David Marshall and his husband Rafael, Jennifer Marshall and stepchildren Mark Horneffer and his wife Kathy, Debbie and her husband Paul Elsey, Keith Horneffer and his wife Valerie, Kent Horneffer and his wife Gretchen, Leanne Yeary and her husband Jim, 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren that admired Grandma Peggy. She is also predeceased by her brother Ronnie Smith, her sister Jane Ann Watson and will be missed by her sisters Jo Ann Burton, Sandra Yingling and Marilyn Parker.
Friends and relatives are invited to call at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. W Dr., Indianapolis, Indiana, for a memorial gathering on Saturday, August 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Burial will be immediately after at Washington Park North Cemetery. Although flowers are appreciated, the family also knows Peggy would appreciate donations to the American Stroke Association.
