Peggy Lou Gigli, 90, of Franklin, IN, passed away on May 8, 2022. She was born on February 24, 1932 to the late Vernon and Lucille Bielski Sailor in Bloomington, IN.
She graduated from Bloomington High School and later married the love of her life, Amonda Ray Gigli, on December 31, 1960 in Indianapolis. Together they raised their three sons on the east side of Indianapolis.
Peggy loved children and enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews and often took them to the movies and out for ice cream. She was a kind, sweet mom who gave her sons a good life full of unconditional love. She loved caring for children and ran a daycare where she not only cared for children but taught preschool basics. Many of these kids’ families kept in touch with her through the years and remember her fondly.
She is preceded in passing by her beloved husband, A. Ray Gigli; her parents; and six siblings, Paul, Clifton, Mary, Edna, Alice, and Juanita.
Peggy is survived by her three sons, Brian, Greg (Susie), and Robert (Janice), as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, American Diabetes Association, or the ASPCA.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 12-2PM with funeral services to begin at 2PM all held at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229.
