Paul John Simon O'Connor

Paul was born in Harare, Zimbabwe on July 8, 1963 to Sheila and Donal O’Connor. Paul grew up in Liverpool, England and left for the United States after graduating from the University of Surrey with a High Honors Diploma in Hospitality Management. He was married to Jennifer O’Connor (Weitz) from 1994 to 2017.

Paul dedicated his career in the hospitality industry to making every guest feel special and bringing out the best in all those around him. He worked in hotels in the Channel Islands; San Francisco, CA; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Guam; Saipan; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Lansing, MI; Athens, OH; Hebron, KY; Carmel, IN and Louisville, KY. He won numerous awards including General Manager of the Year and Hotel of the Year.

Paul is preceded in death by his mother Sheila O’Connor (2017), and brother Gary O’Connor (2005). Paul is survived by his children, Molly and Daniel O’Connor; father,  Donal O’Connor; Siblings, Frank O’Connor, Sean (Ronelin) O’Connor, Marion (Eamonn) Flanagan; and 9 nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks to Barri Donaghy, a true friend.

Paul was a passionate fan of the Liverpool Football Club and never missed a game. One thing is certain, as per the Liverpool motto, he will never walk alone.

Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church on Wednesday January 22, 2020 at 12:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by eulogies at 11:30 am. The family extends an invitation to celebrate Paul’s life at the Brockway Pub on Old Meridian Street in Carmel following the service.
