Paul Ivan Kennedy

Paul Ivan Kennedy, 96, of Indianapolis, passed away August 21, 2017.

Born December 2, 1920 to Marvin Stewart Kennedy and Mary Irene Welch Kennedy. Deceased brother, Marvin George Kennedy and sister, Mary Bernice Williams, father to Russell S. Kennedy, Bette Jo Helm, 3 step-daughters, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graduated from Arsenal Technical High School, Indianapolis in 1939. Was called to active duty by the U.S. Navy on November 4, 1940. Was present at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on December 7, 1941, during the attack by the Japanese. Served in the Navy in the South Pacific and the North Atlantic and participated in the invasion of Europe June 4, 1944. Worked in the mortgage lending business for 40 years. Was a member of Greenwood Bible Baptist Church, Prospect Lodge No. 714, F. & A.M., and Pearl Harbor Survivors Association.

A memorial service will take place at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 9, at Greenwood Bible Baptist Church, 1461 Sheek Rd, Greenwood, IN 46143.
