Paul David Flodder, 69, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017.

He was born on May 17, 1948 in Indianapolis to the late William Henry and Florence Mae (Kerkhoff) Flodder. Paul was a 1967 graduate of Thomas Carr Howe High School. Following his graduation he enlisted in the USAF, serving 2 tours in Vietnam. Upon his return he was trained in armament disposal. Paul earned an Associates of Arts degree from Dodge City Community College in Dodge City, KS. He then began a long career in law enforcement and security, mostly in the USAF and the Veteran’s Administration, retiring in 2010. Paul loved fishing, racing and collecting firetruck memorabilia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Darlyn “Dede” Flodder; and twin brother, Dennis Flodder. Paul is survived by his sons, Lee (Jennifer) Flodder, James “Jim” (Sandra Allen) Flodder, Paul Albertson; sister, Katherine E. “Liz” (Ralph) Timmons; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 2pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St., with visitation 2 hours prior to the service. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project.
