Paul "Bo" Raymond Kirschten, Jr.

October 15, 1935 — October 21, 2020

Fishers, IN

Paul R. “Bo” Kirschten of Fishers, Indiana went Home to his Savior on Wed. Oct 21, 2020, with his loving wife Sharon at his side.
Bo was born in Evanston, Illinois October 15, 1935 and moved early in life with his family to Greenwood Mississippi.
He was one of four children of Paul and Elizabeth Kirschten.
He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Elizabeth Kirschten, sister, Sally Ann Kirschten and brother, Thomas “Judge” Kirschten.

Bo is survived by his wife Sharon, his brother Sam, daughter Tonya, stepson Toby, two nephews Nicholas Paul Kirschten, Samuel Joe Kirschten and 27 cousins and a very close cousin Hub Kelsh and two life long friends Dave Meats and Bill Doss.

Bo served in the U.S. Army Signal Core as an artillery communications specialist from 1955 to 1958 in a field artillery unit out of Ft Sill. He was shipped overseas repairing radios and other electronic equipment while operating a 24 hour CW (Morse Code) Network.

Bo studied at the University of Mississippi, ‘Old Miss’, in liberal arts and electrical engineering which he put to use while working at Hycel/Roche from August 1970 till he retired in 2001. Bo held several field and in house positions over those 31 years. Most of his time was spent on the road installing, maintaining sophisticated blood chemistry instrumentation and setting up shows all across the country,,, and created friends everywhere.

Bo was every body’s friend. Everywhere you went, everyone knew of Bo. While working at Roche, we had buttons made which had the words, “I know BO” on them and sure enough, no matter where we would go to work, everyone had their ‘I Know Bo’ buttons on!!

As for the nickname “Bo”, he received the nickname “Bo” back when he was “promoting” entertainment events. He had booked a famous performer named “Bo Diddley” for a dance. However, the performer was not the “famous” “Bo Didley”, it was some “off brand” performer that turned out to be not so good. From then on all his friends & enemies nicknamed him “BO” for the botched event.

Paul “Bo” Kirschten is now at peace looking down, smiling with us all as we remember those fantastic memories of this wonderful loving man. You will be missed my friend, but never forgotten……
