Patsy Ruth Sourwine

May 8, 1931 — April 14, 2025

Carmel, Indiana

Patsy Ruth Sourwine, 93, of Carmel passed away April 14, 2025. She was born May 8, 1931, in Wichita Falls, Texas the daughter of the late Earl E. and Beulah Mae (Windham) Selvidge. She married Jack Gorman Sourwine, who preceded her in passing on November 20, 2009, after 60 years of marriage.

Together, Jack and Pat, joined forces and were able to serve their beloved community by founding Sourwine Real Estate Services which is still family owned and serves Indianapolis today. Pat was a true matriarch of the Sourwine family, a constant at the business, a devoted mother at home, and her love and care for her family was evident as she was the primary caregiver to Jack in his 10 year battle with Alzheimer’s. She loved to surround herself with extended family and giving gifts, she enjoyed tending to her gardens, traveling, dancing, and she would look forward to caring for their german shepherds on their estate often accompanied by her granddaughter, Jenny.

Later in life, Patsy enjoyed reading, listening to music, and her visits with her son J.D.

She is survived by her son, J.D. Sourwine; daughter-in-law, Diane Sourwine; six grandchildren, Keegan (Rachel), Joseph, Jennifer, Jana, Jadyn, and Joy; and two great grandsons, Elias and Rowan. She was preceded in passing by her son, James Sourwine.

In accordance with her wishes a private family service was held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Carmel Clay Public Library. Online condolences may be shared by visiting www.flannerbuchanan.com
