Patsy Ruth Rahke , 83, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana, died Monday, April 10, 2017 at Unitypoint Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois.

Patsy was born on December 3, 1933 in Merryville, Louisiana to Jesse Arsene (Zeke) and Minnie Pearl Eaves. She was the youngest of ten children. She married the love of her life, Arthur (Hap)Rahke on October 10, 1951. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1977. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, and four brothers.
Patsy is survived by two daughters, Pamela (Robert) Hicklin of Chillicothe, Illinois, and Barbara Rahke of Houston,Texas. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Taylor Rahke of Houston, Texas, Janelle (Ian) Olson of Fairbanks, Alaska, Jayma (Matt) Shane of East Peoria, Illinois, Matthew Hicklin of San Diego, California, Lisa (Dan) Hofmann and Jennifer (James) Cashwell of Denver, Colorado, Megan (Chano) Rodriguez and Adam Hicklin of Chilllicothe, Illinois. Also surviving are six great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.
Patsy attended Merryville High School, where she played basketball. She still enjoyed cheering on her Lady Panthers. After marrying, Patsy and Arthur moved to Indianapolis to make their home and raise a family. She worked in the College Division of Bobbs-Merrill/ITT Publishing Company as a manager until their closing. She retired from Methodist Hospital as an Administrative Secretary in the Children’s Pavilion.
Patsy attended Wesley United Methodist Church and was very active in Sunday School and the Women’s Ministry. She was a previous member of White Cross Guild. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Patsy was loved by all her knew her. She had a smile and a kind word for everyone she encountered. She survived many trials with grace and dignity. She was the rock of our family, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral-Speedway, 2950 North High School Road, Indianapolis, Indiana. The family will receive visitors from 9 to 11 AM. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
