Patsy Mae Barz

August 25, 1958 — March 16, 2020

Mooresville, Indiana

Patsy Mae Barz, 61, of Mooresville, Indiana passed away March 16, 2020. She was born August 25, 1958 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Kenneth and Eva Mae Thrasher.

She was a lifetime Indiana resident and proud Ben Davis High School graduate. Patsy was self-employed in wholesale sales and was also an ordained minister through H. Richard Hall. She met the love of her life, Bruce Barz, through Bruce’s sister and the rest is history. They spent many beautiful years together traveling, spreading the word of God, and loving their family. They remain deeply in love at the time of her passing. Patsy was a member of West Newton Worship and Youth Center in Camby, Indiana; she was a true model for God and steadfastly shared her faith with those around her. Peace can be found in knowing her faith will allow us to see her again one day. She loved fishing, even earning the nickname “Catfish Patty” during fishing tournaments, enjoyed quilting, and collected all things I Love Lucy. Patsy was also a very talented singer. She once sent a CD of her songs to Charlie Daniels of The Charlie Daniels Band. In turn, Charlie himself called her, though she didn’t believe him until he started singing to her. He offered to have her come to The Grand Ole Opry to sing with him; she politely declined because she only sang gospel. Most of all, Patsy was an amazing wife, mother, mimi, and friend to all; her family calls her the best! Her passing leaves an empty space in the hearts of those who were blessed enough to meet her. She will be incredibly missed and lovingly remembered.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Eva Mae; siblings, Connie Ray, Robert Thrasher, and Brenda Thrasher. Surviving to carry on her legacy are loving husband, Bruce Barz; daughter, Jennifer (Bobby) Haley; step-son, Eric Barz; grandchildren, Adalynn (5) and Colson (2); siblings, Tim Thrasher, Mike Thrasher, Phyllis Mcelyea, and Kathy Todd; former husband and good friend, Jerry Bryant; her beloved furbabies, Bella, Cocoa, China, and Hannah; as well as a host of extended family members, friends, and church family.
