Patrick Doran Peregrin

Patrick Doran Peregrin was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 15^th, 1963. He grew up near Eight Mile and Lasher. He became a lifelong Tigers fan when at the age of five his Tigers won the World Series. One of his fondest memories from childhood was walking door-to-door and asking neighbors to take him to a Detroit Tigers baseball game.

He moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas, and later attended the University of Arkansas, majoring in Journalism. While working as a local sports reporter, he met Melissa Millsap. After dating for 5 years, they were married. They raised 4 children.

Patrick worked in newspaper advertising for more than 30 years, all across the country, building a reputation as a determined salesman, and turning clients into friends. He worked at the Indianapolis Star for 13 years. His final position there was as Vice President of Sales.

Patrick was known to devour every book about the Civil War, and had a profound love for the works of Mark Twain. He spent his weekends perusing antique shops for hidden treasures, cheering on the Razorbacks, and grilling. His love for gardening and Detroit Tigers baseball was rivaled only by his love for his children. He loved listening to Bruce Springsteen, and swore ‘Born to Run’ would have been his baseball walk-up song.

He married Constance Wiggam in a small backyard ceremony in 2016. Together they loved traveling, cooking, and hosting friends for theme parties.

Patrick brought a fun-loving spirit and joy to everything he did, always saying “the more, the merrier.” He never met a stranger he couldn’t converse with.

Patrick is preceded in death by his father, John Paul Peregrin, Sr., his mother, Mary Isabelle Peregrin, and his brother, Chris Peregrin. He is survived by his brothers, John Paul Peregrin, Jr., Dan Peregrin (Jennifer), and Jim Peregrin (Debbie), his sister Mary Peregrin, his wife, Connie, his children, Rebekkah McGrath (Sean), Colleen Peregrin, Isabelle Peregrin, and Shaun Peregrin, his step-daughters, Kasey Wiggam and Abbey Wiggam, and one grandchild, Rose McGrath, as well as a host of other family and friends.

Patrick died April 4th, 2020 in Carmel, Indiana.

Funeral services pending COVID-19 restrictions being lifted. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
