Patricia A. Ware

Patricia “Pat” A. Ware, 94, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 in Columbus, Ohio. Pat was born October 5, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Edward A. and Olga M. Paulus. She attended Fontbonne College in St. Lous and, as an adult student, the University of Central Florida. Pat was an avid reader, accomplished bridge player, excellent cook and gracious hostess. She made a welcoming home for her family wherever her husband, Norm’s career took them--throughout Illinois and to California, Ohio and Florida. In 1988, Pat and Norm moved to Carmel, Indiana to be near their first grandchild. While in Carmel, they were active members of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. She was a member of the Carmel Women’s Club and a member of a local knitting circle, using her skills to make clothing items for people in need. She had a great sense of style which served her well during the 20 years she worked in sales of home décor, most recently at The Glass Shoppe in Carmel.

Throughout her life, Pat’s deep faith and trust in God enabled her to weather life’s challenges with great strength and grace. She loved spending time with her family, especially to hear about her grandchildren’s lives and to hold her new great-grandchildren. She made us all feel loved.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Norm, of 70 years and her son, Tim. She is survived by daughters, Deborah “Deb” Ware (husband, Doug) Balogh and Barbara Ware (husband, Dave) Carnahan; grandchildren, Lindsey Balogh (husband, Alex Langrock), Bryan Carnahan (wife, Taylor), Eric Carnahan, and Kate Carnahan, and great-grandchildren, Penny and Daphne Langrock and Avery Carnahan.

Private services for the immediate family will be held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Pat’s family wishes to thank the staff in the Palliative Care Unit at Mt. Carmel-St Ann’s Hospital in Columbus, Capital City Hospice, and the staff at Willowbrook Christian Home for their compassionate care. We are especially grateful to Dr. Grace Ukairo at Mt. Carmel-St. Ann’s Hospital. Memorial contributions may be made to Capital City Hospice, 2800 Corporate Exchange Dr., #170, Columbus, OH 43231 in Pat’s memory.
