On February 7, 2023, Patricia (Patt) Ruth (Purvis) Dewald crossed through the veil into the arms of her Heavenly Father, family, friends and her many four-legged fur children who were all eagerly waiting her arrival.
Patt was born on October 16, 1928, in Kokomo, IN to Oral and Opal Purvis. She married Ralph Dewald on February 20, 1983, in Indianapolis and they enjoyed many years together. Having both been entrepreneurs, they traveled the world not only for pleasure, but to also find wonderful products to bring back to the United States. Patt has visited every continent in the world including Antarctica. Traveling and learning of other cultures was a great passion for her and she loved to show her pictures and to encourage adventures to everyone.
Patt was generous in body, mind and spirit, she gave of herself and her time to the many organizations that she belonged to and supported through her life, a few of them are: Epsilon Sigma Alpha International, The Optimist Club, Oasis Dancers that performed each year at the State Fair, The Newcomers Club, The Rose Society, Indiana Daylily-Iris Society, The Hamilton County Humane Society, Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, and others too numerous to mention.
Left to cherish her memory are her son David (Alma) DiLuciano, Bloomington, IN, Nieces and Nephews: Dennis Meehan (Linda Wigmore), Wilmington, NC, Donna Whitton, Rutland, VT, Greg (Pat) Purvis, Fishers, Cathy Lakey, Conroe, TX, Connie Purvis, Kokomo, IN, Step Niece, Denise Adamson, Kokomo, IN, and many great nieces and nephews that she loved very much as well as many dear friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents and husband along with son Richard O. DiLuciano, sister Jacqueline Harrison, brother James Gordon Purvis, and infant siblings Oral R. Purvis, Jr. and Donna Maxine Purvis.
We would like to thank her wonderful caregivers from “My Extra Hands” as well as Asceracare Hospice for the wonderful care that she has received during her declining years. Your efforts, love and kindness are greatly appreciated.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church, 11441 Hague Road, Fishers, IN, with calling one hour prior to the Funeral Mass. Patt will be laid to rest next to her family in Crown Point Cemetery, Kokomo, IN.
We all know that Patt loved flowers, but if you wish, donations may be directed to the Hamilton County Humane Society to support the animals that were always so dear to her heart.
