Patricia Rasmussen

Patricia Ann (Buehler) Ramussen was born to John Louis Buehler and Bessie Gertrude (Ryan) Buehler in Indianapolis on March 12, 1937, she passed away to her heavenly home on Sunday, November 10, 2024. 

Pat was the devoted wife of David Edward Rasmussen whom she married on June 15, 1957. She was also mother to 6 children, 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Pat lost her beloved son Michael David when he was killed in an automobile accident two years ago. Pat was also preceeded in death by twins, Peter and Phillip, who died at birth due to pre-maturity.

Surviving Pat are her 3 children Scott, Ann, and Cyndi along with their families (listed below). They will all miss her greatly. She is also survived by her siblings Bill Buehler, Mary Hamilton, Lou Buehler, as well as sister-in-law, Susan Rasmussen and brother-in-law, Steve Rasmussen.

Pat was a loving wife, nurturing mother and grandmother, remarkable homemaker, avid gardener, and stunning seamstress. After graduating from Broad Ripple High School and Purdue University, Pat’s life centered on her relationship with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She was a prayer warrior for those she knew and those she never would. Pat loved teaching her grandchildren about Jesus, as well as how to knit, bake, weave, and sew. She attended as many of her grandchildren’s special events as possible to encourage and support them. One of Pat’s most amazing accomplishments was creating her daughter Ann’s wedding dress from scratch, weaving the material then sewing it into a beautiful gown. 

Pat and Dave have spent the last several years living at Robin Run, where Dave continues to live. She was a member of Redeemer Church and she continued to be a faithful friend and neighbor till the very end of her time here on Earth.

Pat’s surviving family includes: Husband: David E. Rasmussen; Children (Spouse): Scott Louis Rasmussen (Laurie), Ann Marie Reed (Dennis), Cynthia Lynn Calhoun (Gary); Siblings: William "Bill" Buehler (Ruth), Mary Hamilton (Stan), Louis "Lou" Buehler (Linda), Sister-in-law, Susan Rasmussen, Brother-in-law, Stephen Rasmussen (Nancy); Grandchildren: Tyler Bressie, Tessa Bressie, Kate Henderson (Kurt), Ashley Rasmussen, Benjamin Rasmussen, Erin Redman (Callum), Amber Calhoun, Kimberly Redmon (Colton), Ameila Calhoun, Great-Grandchildren: Anthony Potter, Aiden Redmon, Rhettlyn Redmon, D. Fitz Henderson. 

Visitation will be from 12p-2p with a funeral service to follow at 2pm on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, all at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229). Burial to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
