Patricia P. Murphy

Patricia P Murphy, 84, of Indianapolis, Indiana, peacefully passed away in her home on April 16, 2025. She was born on July 12, 1940, in Nickelsville, Virginia, to parents, Henry Parks and Elsie (Bush) Parks.

Patricia's journey was one of remarkable perseverance and achievement. She began her career climbing from the coal mines of the Appalachian Mountains to become a distinguished and outstanding insurance manager. Her hard work and dedication not only paved the way for her own professional success but also served as an inspiring example for her children, whom she raised with love and devotion during the challenging decades of the 1960s and 70s, alongside their father.

A joyous person by nature, she brought laughter and warmth to all who knew her. Friends and family will remember her infectious laughter and witty jokes, creating an atmosphere filled with joy whenever she was present. Patricia's love for her family was unwavering, and she dedicated herself to ensuring their happiness and well-being.

Patricia is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Dreama L. Murphy; her only son, Jack Murphy; her daughter and Babygirl, Bobbi Ann Murphy; her sister, Ellen Miller; her grandchildren, Amanda, Scott, Rachel, Brooke and she was also blessed with many other grandchildren along with two other additions, Camiah and Callahan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby, J. Murphy; mother, Elsie Parks, and her brother and Marine Corps. veteran, Jack Parks.

Visitation for Patricia will be from 10p-2pm on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite) – 9700 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46250, with a funeral service immediately following at 2pm. Burial will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
