Patricia Joan Thompson, 88, of Carmel, Indiana, died on January 19, 2021, at Copper Trace Senior Living. She was born on September 2, 1932, to Charles and Glenna Chase in Kokomo. Joanie and her family moved around the Midwest while she was young before moving to Indianapolis where she graduated from Broad Ripple High School. She worked for the federal government for several years before finally settling in Carmel with her husband, John, where she raised her family. Joanie was a longtime member of Carmel United Methodist Church and Woodland Country Club. She was also an avid supporter of Indiana University. She is survived by her son Jay (Jennifer) Thompson, and her two granddaughters, Heidi and Hadley Thompson, as well as her sister Janet (Jim) Thompson. In addition to her parents, Joanie was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Thompson. There will be a private service held on Friday, January 22, 2021, at Carmel United Methodist Church.
