Patricia Jean (Schenk) Young

Patricia Jean (Schenk) Young, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at the age of 91. She was born in Lima, Ohio on September 3, 1928 to Frank and Ida (Patterson) Schenk.
Pat grew up in Lima and attended St. Rose Catholic School where she served as Senior Class Secretary. Upon her graduation she married William L. Young, and from this union, seven children were born: William, Jr., Kathleen Weldon (Steven), Gregory (AnnMarie Roth), Thomas (Anne Lawrence), Barbara (Michael Arnett), James (Deanna Lee), and Melinda (Brian Sable). There was nothing Pat valued more than her faith and her family, so after a brief period of working as a typist, she chose to stay home and raise her beloved family.
Pat was a devout Catholic and a long-time member of St. Michael the Archangel’s Parish in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Patricia was preceded in death by: her husband, William L. Young; and her parents, Frank and Ida Schenk.
She leaves behind her 7 children; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held for Pat on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. W. Drive, Indianapolis, from 3-5:30pm, with services beginning at 5:30.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
