Patricia J. Hartkorn-Ellis
85, of Franklin, Indiana, passed away on January 19, 2022. Pat was born on October 31, 1936 in Streator, IL to the late Andrew Capko and Ruth (Weiss) Smelcer. Pat worked as an administrative assistant for a Methodist Church in Phoenix, Arizona for 15 years, and then as an administrative assistant in the RV industry when she returned to Indianapolis until retirement. Pat was a devout Christian and loved reading her bible daily. She was a fabulous cook and a meticulous homemaker. She loved her grandchildren, and the young great grandchildren always brought her joy and put a smile on her face. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hartkorn; stepfather, Robert Smelcer; siblings, Shirley Vaughan, Dick Capko, Buddy Capko and Jerry Capko. She is survived by her children, Craig Hartkorn, Pam (Bob) Kocher, Tim (Robin) Hartkorn, Ken (Jo) Hartkorn and Mike Hartkorn; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 5 to 7 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Decatur Township 5463 Kentucky Ave., Indpls., IN 46221. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 11 am at St Barnabas Catholic Church, 8300 Rahke Rd., Indpls., IN 46217. Entombment will take place at Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
