Patricia D. Black

Patricia D. (Smith) Black, 88, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away July 22, 2019. Patricia was born on November 1, 1930 in Cape Girardeau, Mo., to George Alexander and Eva Loreene (Williams) Smith. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Vernon D. Black, and her siblings George Alexander Smith, Jr. and Susan Jane Smith. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother — who focused on family and raising her four beloved children. Her love was unconditional and limitless. She was a beautiful person, both inside and out. Patricia is survived by her children; Jayne Browning, George Dewey Black, Brian Black, and Vincent (Laura) Black, and her treasured grandchildren; Jessica Bonner and Jacquelyn (Coleman) Norris, George Dewey Black II, and Alexandria, Samantha, and David Black; and her adored great-grandchildren Harrison and Hayden Bonner, and Elowynn Norris. Calling will be held on Monday July 29, 2019, at Flanner Buchanan Zionsville from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 pm. Pastor Fred Rodkey will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Zionsville Cemetery, where Patricia will be laid to rest next to her husband. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
