Nephew, Steve (Megan) Charlesworth, Nieces, Carrie (Eli) Balaban, and Joan Charlesworth. Great nephew, Jasper Balaban, great nieces, Naomi and Karis Charlesworth, and so many cousins!
While she was born in Indiana, she loved the summers and time she spent in Alabama with all of her cousins, also becoming a huge BAMA fan.
Pat, a Ben Davis High School graduate, graduated with honors from Ivy Tech with a Medical Assistant degree and worked in the field until she retired to care for her aging parents and mother-in-law. She previously worked at W.R. Grace, and McCormick’s - where she met her future husband, John. They have been married for over 38 years.
She loved the outdoors and was always on an adventure. Pat and John traveled all over the country to hike and see the most beautiful and scenic places. She loved to travel out west, and enjoyed seeing all of the wildlife. She loved animals of all kinds, but her favorite was deer. We were often found in the evening chasing sunsets for optimal “deer cruise” time.
She was a member at St. Andrew’s ELCA in Speedway, IN. She participated in many circle groups, taught Sunday school, and was always happy to volunteer.
Pat went to great lengths to ensure help for future generations with Alzheimer’s disease. She participated for years in the LEADS study with IU University. After nine years with the disease, her final act of love was an organ donation to IU Neurological Department to further Alzheimer’s research.
Pat was known for being the kindest and most big-hearted person. She was a peaceful calm that will be missed by all.
