Patricia A. Smythe

Patricia Ann Smythe, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away December 2^nd, 2020. She was born June 7th, 1950, in Indianapolis, to parents Melvin and Evelyn (Minchin) Asher.

Pat graduated from Warren Central High School. She  worked for CMW Inc. for 35 years, and finished her career with Textron Aviation before retiring.

On July 26^th, 1980, she married the love of her life, Ray Smythe. They shared 40 wonderful years, spending as much time together as possible.

She and Ray attended Ivy Tech Community college together, where she graduated with an associate degree.

Pat was an active, hard working, adventurous woman with many interests. She and Ray enjoyed learning to fly and flew many types of single engine aircraft throughout the country. She loved the outdoors, canoeing, rafting, hiking, biking and lounging on the beach. Above all, Pat loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Pat is survived by her loving husband, Ray; her sons Jeffrey (Joe Ogle) Smythe, and Vance (Kristi) Smythe; grandchildren Samantha Smythe, Holly Smythe, Gavin Smythe, Amanda Hamm, and Alyson Hamm; and great-grandchildren Millie Anne, Mason, Isabelle, Bryon and Connor.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Derrick Hamm, and her sister Sue Young.

Private services are being held. Pat will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
