Pastor John "Jack" L. Whitesell

Pastor John “Jack” L. Whitesell went home to be with the Lord on October 30, 2018. Jack was born on July 26, 1927 in Kokomo, IN to Stanley Otto and Isola Faye (Corbin) Whitesell. Jack served our country in the United States Army and he served the Lord as the Founding and Lead Senior Pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Morton, IL before moving to Indianapolis where he was a charter member along with his wife Betty and are the last two founding members of Eagledale Baptist church which is now Crosspointe Baptist Church. Jack retired from the church in 1991 and continued serving at the Baptist Children’s Home in Valparaiso, IN and retired again in 1995. Jack married Betty Lou Jackson on May 27, 1948 at Broadway Baptist Church in Indianapolis and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Jack was preceded in death by his son; Richard W Whitesell and grandson; Zach Fisher and siblings; Betty, Floyd, Mark Whitesell and Joanne Wentworth. Jack is survived by his wife; Betty Lou (Jackson) Whitesell, son; Pastor Mike (Kathy) Whitesell, daughters; Linda (Don) Fisher, Jackie (Kent) Kay, Judy (David) Kenney, 12 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren and his sister; Mary (Billy) Lee and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Saturday November 03, 2018 at Crosspointe Baptist Church from 1 to 2 pm followed by a memorial service at 2 pm. Inurnment will be in West Ridge Park Cemetery.
