Pamela "Pam" Sue Delk, 60 of Indianapolis, Indiana went to be with the Lord on Monday June 12, 2017.
Born September 18, 1956 to Donna Jean Smith and Archer Adair Cogil in Springfield, Illinois. Pam lived in Illinois until the age of 13 when her family moved to Indianapolis where she graduated Pike High School in 1974. That same year, Pam met Paul Jeffrey "Jeff" Delk who was instrumental in introducing her to her Savior, Jesus Christ. On October 19, 1974 Pam and Jeff were married at the Indianapolis Baptist Temple where they remain members to this day. After graduation, Pam worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 18 years. She later resigned from her position at the IRS in order to work side by side with Jeff at Yardarm Marine Products until 2016. Pam and Jeff are current members and active participants of the Five Points Conservation Club. Pam had a heart to cook and care for her family as well as anyone who came in to her life. Pam's greatest passion was her husband, children, grandchildren and any activities they were involved in.
Pam is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jeff; her son Melvin Delk (Erica) and daughter Kristina Shackelford (Jeff). She was Nana to 10 grandchildren: Whitney, Garrett, Jeffrey, Dominic, Hannah, Ellett, Blake, Paul, Elizabeth and Brooklyn. She is also survived by her mother, Donna Smith; Mother in law, Barbara Delk; Siblings: James Cogil (Linda), Karen Rush (Jeff), Tami Hall (Craig), and Tim Cogil (Cindy). Sister in law Sherry Albert (Art); Brother in law Carl Daniel Delk as well as an assortment of nieces, nephews, their spouses and children.
Pam was preceded in death by her Father, Archer Cogil; Stepfather, George Smith; Father in law, Carl Melville Delk; and nephew, Dustin A. Cogil.
A visitation will be held Friday, June 16, 2017 from 4-8PM with a service following on Saturday, June 16, 2017 at 11AM at Flanner and Buchanan—Decatur Township. Pam will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery.
