Normalea “Lea” Bedford, 78, Carmel, passed away April 8, 2018. She was born September 22, 1939, in Clinton, IN, to the late Raymond Earl and Delores Mae (Bonebrake) Wilson.
Lea graduated from Westfield High School in 1958, and went on to become a bank teller and personal account representative at American National Bank and Chase Bank. She was known by her family and friends as a woman who knew no stranger. Lea made a friend of every person she spoke to. Above all else, she was passionate about her family. Lea was a loving mother, grandmother, and favorite “Auntie Lea”. She also adored her dog, Rusty.
Lea is survived by her twin daughters, Sheri (Todd) Snow, and Terri (Bob Dunn) Beecher; grandchildren, Brian Beecher, Emily (Andrew) Aitken, A.J. Beecher, Taylor and Nick Snow; brother Raymond Earl “Bud” (Susan) Wilson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rhonda, Calvin (Linda), and Larry (Mary) Thistlethwaite, and other family. Lea is preceded in passing by her parents; sister, Bette Lou (Doug) Cox; her high school sweetheart and husband of 28 years, Ronald Thistlethwaite; and her second husband of 20 years, Dave Bedford.
Visitation will be held 5:00p.m.-8:00p.m. Friday April 13, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive, Carmel, Indiana 46032. Additional visitation will be 10:00a.m.-11:00a.m. on Saturday April 14, 2018, followed by a funeral service at 11:00a.m with Mary Ann Moman, Associate Pastor at St. Mark’s UMC, officiating. Burial will be at Summit Lawn Cemetery in Westfield following the service. Memorial contributions can be made to ReadUP (www.uwci.org/readup), or to any charitable organization of your choice.
