Jean passed away peacefully at her home, where she had lived for 66 years, on June 29, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born in a farmhouse at 151st and Gray Road near Westfield Indiana the third of five children born to G.C. and Kathern Clark. She was a proud graduate of Westfield High School and married the love of her life Robert Robey, Sr. on July 6, 1951, who she had been introduced to on a blind date. They were the proud parents of Robert, Jr., Roy, Victoria, and Karen. In 1968, Jean embarked on a highly successful real estate career in the booming market of Hamilton County by joining Kaiser Real Estate Company. In 1984, Jean and Robert Sr. decided to open Robey Real Estate, Inc. which grew into Century 21 Robey Real Estate. After Robert’s death in 1994, Jean continued her successful business eventually merging with Realty Group Companies and enjoyed continued success until her retirement in 2013 after more than 45 years, helping hundreds of families buy and sell homes and farms. During her entire career, the families she worked with were more than clients, they were friends.
Despite working many, many hours, Jean found time to be the hostess for huge extended family gatherings at Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas and would perfectly prepare traditional “Hoosier” meals. She was an excellent cook and carried on an amazing legacy from her mother in preparing everyone’s favorite dishes, especially matching and even exceeding her cornbread!
Jean loved Westfield and Westfield Schools and was an avid supporter at all of her children’s, grandchildren’s, and great-grandchildren’s events. Her favorite saying was “I bleed green”. One of her favorite songs was “Glory to Old Westfield” and she loved belting it out at the many games she attended while supporting her family members. Jean was a long time member of Little Eagle Creek Christian Church.
