Norma Oppenlander Isley, 92, of Indianapolis entered eternal rest on December 9, 2017.
Norma graduated from IU with both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree. She retired in 1984 after teaching physical education for many years as a school teacher mostly in the Monroe County Community School District.
Norma is survived by her five children Frederick Oppenlander, Benjamin Oppenlander (Annette), Julie Tipton (Rod), Emily Angle (Rob), and Christopher Oppenlander (Debbie); stepdaughter Marie Bass (Reggie), cousin-in-law Joseph Oppenlander; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband Lester Oppenlander, her second husband Robert Isley, her parents, her brother and her sister.
Funeral Services will be held 3 PM Sunday, December 17 at Flanner Buchanan – Zionsville, 105 W. Pine St, Zionsville with visitation 1 PM until the time of service. Graveside Services will be held 1 PM Monday, December 18 at Valhalla Memory Gardens, Bloomington, IN.
