Norma Jean Staton, 88, Zionsville, passed away March 5, 2017. She was born in Boone County, the daughter of Marion and Ina (Corbin) Graham. Norma was retired from Ivy Tech Community College in June 1990, where she served as administrative assistant to the president. She was a member of the Zionsville Christian Church, where she both volunteered and was member of the Dorcas Circle. Norma was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She loved spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren. Norma always enjoyed watching their little league games. She also had a passion for baking and flower gardening. Norma married Woodrow “Woody” Staton on May 28, 1954, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Sandy Heffner. Norma is survived by her sons, Larry Staton (Brenda) and Randy Staton; her grandchildren, Melissa Heffner, Andrew Heffner (Kim), Katelyn Staton, Jacob Staton, and Lizzie Staton; her great-grandchild, Katelyn Heffner; her sister, Joan Coval; her son-in-law, Doug Heffner; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Friday, March 10 at 11 AM at the Zionsville Christian Church, followed by burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 9 from 4-7 PM at Flanner and Buchanan- Zionsville, and also on Friday from 10-11 AM at the church.
