Nicol Lorraine Schill

Nicol “Nicki” L. Schill, 47, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on December 4, 2022. Nicki was born on August 4, 1975, as the only child of James and Dawn Schill in Indianapolis.

Nicki was a devoted mother who brought three beautiful children into the world. She did everything she could to ensure that her children were happy and healthy. She cheered her children on at every sports game and school event – often being the loudest parent there! Looking back on those moments now, her children are grateful that their mother always went the extra mile to support her children in their educational and recreational pursuits.

Nicki was an avid reader who loved reading books written by James Patterson. Anytime that you saw Nicki, you saw her with a James Patterson book. You could never catch her without a book close by.

Nicki was also an animal lover who would go to great lengths to rescue stray cats and dogs to give them great homes. Cookie, a stray cat she found around her home, is one of her greatest success stories. Cookie is a well-mannered cat who protected her newfound family with all of her might. Cookie has always been hypervigilant about the health of her family as well, never leaving their side even when help arrived.

Nicki was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jerry Schill and Mary Ellen McCarty Schill, and her beloved dog Abby. She is survived by her parents; godmother, Judith Hansell; children, Brittany Stewart, Michael Stewart, and Shanna Stewart; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 10, from 10 am to 12 pm, with a Funeral Service beginning at 12 pm, both at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana. She will be laid to rest in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
