“Dance like nobody’s watching; love like you’ve never been hurt; sing like nobody’s listening; and live like it’s heaven on earth.”
Nicholas David Butcher (Nick) passed from his earthly body to his heavenly body on March 13, 2018. He was surrounded by his loving partner of 15 years, Rick Bahr, as well as his parents and dedicated caregivers.
Nick is survived by his partner Rick, his father and stepmother (Dave and Judy Butcher) of Indianapolis, IN.; mother and stepfather (Becky Butcher and Jim Reed) of Camp Verde, AZ.; his sister and brother-in-law (Jamie and Charlie Kitron) of Indianapolis; his stepbrother (DJ Butcher) of Indianapolis, his stepsister (Heidi Pedersen) of Stafford, VA., stepsister (Jodi Gray); and many nieces, nephews, and other family members whom he loved dearly.
Nick was born on May 20, 1980, in Indianapolis to Dave and Becky Butcher. He spent his formative years in the Midwest then moved to the Southwest where he graduated high school from The Orme School in Mayer, Ariz.
Nick worked his way through college and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from the University of Arizona in Tucson.
Nick was a senior sales representative for Eli Lilly and Company and called on health care professionals throughout the Central Indiana area. He loved his customers and working every day to help improve the lives of people with diabetes.
Nick had an incredible zest for life. He packed more in his short time here on earth than most do in a lifetime. Nick loved cooking, traveling, music, friends and sheepdogs. He was a selfless, generous human—the kind that never met a stranger. He was very open with his struggle with cancer and spiritual journey on social media. This led to Nick reaching tens of thousands with his message of hope. Few people have an opportunity to leave the earth with such an indelible footprint.
