Nelma Doris McClintock, 87, of Indianapolis passed away on December 3, 2020. She was born on July 20, 1933 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to the late Olin and Una Lingle.
Nelma married John (Mick) McClintock, March 27, 1954 in Indianapolis, he preceded her in death in March 1981. Nelma worked off and on for many years in the food industry. She worked at the Kopper Kettle Restaurant in Morristown for several years before going to Indianapolis to work as a commissary food vendor for Service America until retirement. After retirement from Service America, she went to work for Beech Grove School system as a cafeteria worker for the Kindergarten staff where she worked until the end of her working career.
One of Nelma’s greatest accomplishments was the love she had for her family. She was the glue that held her family together. She was a loving, caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She loved the lord and enjoyed listening to her spiritual music and playing games on her cell phone.
Nelma is survived by her five loving children; Michele (Dave) Compton; Sherri (Jack) Rupert; Cindy Gilmour; John D McClintock II, and Teresa McClintock; her grandchildren Jason McClintock (who lived with her) Christine (Greg) Schmidt; Connor Rupert; Travis (Angie) Ritter; Tricia (Scott) Wagner; Trevor (Amy) Ritter; John (Melissa) McClintock III; Matt (Carrie) McClintock; her 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; her siblings, David Lingle, Don (Darlene) Lingle, Jerry (Marsha) Lingle; Ruthe (David) Pruett; along with several nieces and nephews.
Nelma is preceded in death by her husband Mick, her parents, and her sister MaryAnn Clark.
