Neil Witmer

Neil Witmer, age 45, a resident of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home on March 27, 2024.  He was born on July 26, 1978, in Las Vegas, Nevada to Richard and Kathleen Witmer.  Neil was a graduate of Vacaville (CA) High School.  He continued his education at Indiana University where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education, with a Minor in Health and Safety.  He worked as a Direct Support Technician for 22 years at Damar Services, where he worked with children with Autism, developmental, and intellectual issues.   He had a passion for working with special needs children.  He loved many types of sports and was a great fan for his favorite teams.

He is survived by his 2 children, Lauren Witmer of Brownsburg, and Caleb Witmer of Brownsburg, his parents Rich and Kathy Witmer of Noblesville, his sister Anne Tennery (Jeremy) of Danville.  A Private Family Memorial and Graveside Service with Flanner Buchanan, interment to take place at Hamilton Memorial Park in Westfield, IN.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) at www.namiindiana.org/give.
