Nathan Alexander May

October 10, 1991 — July 26, 2020

Indianapolis, Indiana

Nathan Alexander May of Indianapolis passed on from this world and into the Arms of God early Sunday morning on July 26th, 2020. He was 28 years young, born on October 10th, 1991 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is the son of Eric May and Susan Fox.

Nathan’s passing was shocking, unexpected, and heartbreaking. The exact cause of death is unknown at this time. There is some speculation that there may have been some severe side effects from the prescribed medication he was on, but the toxicology results won’t be available for weeks.  We find comfort in knowing that he loved the Lord and is with him now.  His compassion for others was a reflection of Christ in him.  His name was chosen with care.  “Nathan” means “a gift”, and he was, touching every life he crossed.  He was tender-hearted, kind, loving, loyal, funny, smart, and a brave soul who faced and overcame challenges and struggles most of us never have to deal with.

Nathan played basketball in grade school and junior high, football in high school, but his real passion was Ju-Jitsu and MMA fighting.  He had recently started a side business and was excited about his future and the goals he was working towards, but ultimately, he finished the most important race of a lifetime, crossing the finish line where he is cheering us on.

Nathan is survived by his mother, Susan Fox; father, Eric May; stepmother, Nina May; sisters, Rachel Smith and Morgan Doucleff; brothers, Avery May, Christopher Traylor, and Nicholas Burkett.

Nathan was preceded in death by his step-dad, Denny Traylor; grandparents, Ronald and Wanda May.

Funeral Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 8540 E 16th St, Indianapolis, IN 46219.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran School, Nathan’s home church and school that he attended through junior high.
