Naomi M. Baker

Naomi Marie Baker, 78, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away surrounded by family on January 14, 2025. Born on October 31, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky, Naomi was the cherished daughter of Walter Perry Evans Jr. and Bertha Gertrude (Collins) Evans. 

Naomi had a profound love for learning and helping others, earning her B.A. in Sociology and Social Work from Anderson College in Anderson, IN, and her M.A. in Applied Gerontology from Ball State University in Muncie, IN. Her passion for connecting with people, and her genuine and lived faith, led her to a fulfilling life in ministry, lecturing, and teaching, where she touched countless lives with her patient and nurturing spirit. 

She was known for her loving and caring demeanor, always willing to lend a helping hand and a listening ear. She lived her faith through every action and word. Her adventurous and fun-loving nature was infectious, and she found joy in singing and playing the piano. Naomi's determination and trustworthiness made her a beloved friend and family member. 

Naomi is survived by her children, Jeremy Baker, Jennifer (Paul) McCain, and Martha (Brian) Davis; former husband David Baker; grandchildren, Charlie McCain, Noah Davis, Brennan Davis, Anna Davis, and Autumn Davis; and her sister Juanita Leonard. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Gertrude Evans; and sisters, Karen and Sadie Evans. 

Visitation for Naomi will be from 11am-1pm on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite) – 9700 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46250, with a funeral service immediately following at 1pm. Entombment will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
