Nancy A. Michaelsen

Nancy Ann (Nelson) Michaelsen went home to heaven on August 14, 2024. She was born on April 24, 1950, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, to the Rev. Andrew William and Mrs. Evelyn (Verness) Nelson. Nancy's father was the pastor of many small churches throughout her childhood, and when she was 9 years old her family moved to Bancroft, Iowa where her father pastored the First Baptist Church. It was here that she first met her future husband, Gregory Michaelsen. Nancy attended Swea City Community School and then Bob Jones University. After college, she happily and lovingly married Gregory Neal Michaelsen on August 21, 1971.

Nancy was a legal assistant and worked at several law firms in the various cities where she and Greg were transferred for his employment. 

She is survived by her husband; three wonderful daughters, Nikole (Eric) Anderson (Westfield, IN), Steffani (Timothy) Guerrant (Carmel, IN), and Alicia Michaelsen (Westfield, IN); and five precious grandchildren, Tayler Nikole Anderson, Trey Eric Anderson, Ty Michael Anderson, Kierstyn Alexis Guerrant and Ashlyn Elise Guerrant. Also, two brothers, James (Lori) Nelson of Washington, IL and Steven Nelson of Westfield, IN.

A visitation for Nancy will be from 12:30-1:00pm on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan - Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters), 4180 Westfield Rd., Westfield, IN, 46062. A funeral service will take place at 1:00pm, followed by family and friends continuing in sharing her memory with light refreshments until 3:00pm. A private graveside service for selected family members will take place at 3:00pm.
