Nancy Thomas Meadows, passed away unexpectedly on April 24th, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Nancy was born on March 30th, 1934, In Wilkes-Barre, PA to Paul and Hazel Thomas. Her family lived in Pennsylvania and Ohio and eventually settled in Indianapolis, where she graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1952. Nancy had many fond memories of traveling on trains during her childhood.
Nancy obtained a degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University in 1956, and taught at School 61 in Indianapolis for few years in the late 1950s, before starting her family. She returned to the work force later as a sales associate at L.S. Ayers in Indianapolis, then later joined the records team at IIMC in Greenwood, IN. However, her favorite job was being the grandmother “Nana” to her sole grandchild, Griffin M. Stucker. She enjoyed anything involving Griffin and attended countless band and sporting events over the years. Sadly she will miss his upcoming graduation from Purdue University, an event she was very much looking forward to attending. In her later years she became an avid Bridge player, earning the coveted title of “Life Master” in June 2016.
In addition to Griffin she is survived by daughter Lynn M. Stucker of Zionsville IN, son Bruce A. Meadows of Indianapolis, IN, and daughter Leslie J. Meadows of Indianapolis, IN. She is also survived by a sister Patricia Klein (Norman) of Indianapolis, and a brother Robert Thomas (Ann) of Bothell, WA plus a few nieces and nephews and several long-time dear friends. Her family is incredibly grateful to the Indianapolis Bridge Center for the fellowship and friendship they have provided over the past several years.
Memorial gathering will be held at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park North, April 30th 2017 from 12:00pm-2:00pm. With Memorial service at 2:00pm
