Nancy Lynne Flores, 67, Zionsville, passed away November 5, 2016. She was born in East Chicago, IN, on June 29, 1949, the daughter of John and Susan (Balash) Sukup. Nancy was a 1967 graduate of East Chicago Roosevelt High School. She also graduated from Indiana University where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Nancy was an elementary school teacher for 30 years in Indianapolis Public Schools, spending the majority of her career at School #110. She loved teaching and loved her students even more. Nancy was devoted to her family, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved being “Grams” to her granddaughter Johanna. Nancy never knew a stranger. She was a kind woman who always made people feel special. Nancy was a long-time member of Advent Lutheran Church in Zionsville. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law Kimberly (Flores) Baucke. Nancy is survived by her husband of 45 years, Michael Flores; her daughter, Marnie Engleman (Jannson); her granddaughter, Johanna Engleman; her brother, Jack Sukup (Susan); and her brothers-in-law and sister-in-law in Colorado, Marcus Flores, Dennis Baucke and Kate Mayer (Bob). Funeral services will be on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 2 PM at Advent Lutheran Church, 11250 Michigan Road, Zionsville, with visitation from 12:30 PM until service time. Burial will be in Zionsville Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Teacher Treasures (www.teachertreasures.org/donate.html) benefiting IPS teachers and students in need of basic school supplies.
