Nancy Jane Kristensen

Nancy Kristensen, 77, of Carmel, Indiana, passed February 22, 2023, at Wellbrooke Assisted Living Facility in Westfield after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Nancy was born to Laurence and Estella Clausen on January 15, 1946, in Hammond, IN.  She graduated from Hammond High School in 1964.  Following high school, she attended Indiana University where she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.  She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from IU in 1968 and continued on to receive her Master’s Degree from Purdue University.   She married her high school sweetheart Robert Kristensen on August 17, 1968.  After living in Indianapolis, Brownsburg, Muncie, and Schererville, they settled in Carmel, Indiana, where they shared many happy years raising their children and enjoying their grandchildren.  Family was of the greatest importance to Nancy.

Nancy is survived by eldest son Michael (spouse Amy), middle son Marc, and youngest son Miles (spouse Coreen). She leaves grandchildren Hailey (Nathan), Ian, Collins, Antonio, Andrew, Cassius, Kingston and great-grandson Everett.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings Janice, Edward and Richard, nephew Erik and grandson Locke.

Nancy was an accomplished educator throughout her career in Home Economics. She impacted students at many Indiana schools, including Decatur Central, Lake Central, Highland High School and Carmel-Clay Schools.

Nancy was a lifelong member of Tri Kappa philanthropic organization, including leadership positions in many of the locations she lived.

One everlasting gift from Nancy to her family is a cherished summer cottage in Door County Wisconsin, the family looks forward to continuing the traditions established there.

Visitation will be at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (Praire Waters), 4180 Westfield Rd., Westfield, IN from 11:00-2:00PM on March 18, 2023.  Funeral service at 2:00PM and Burial to follow.
